LCARE is the Lafayette Community Area Repeater Environment. It provides a distributed communication structure that can be used by families in the  community during events, emergencies, and day-to-day life. The project uses the General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS).

For residents or travelers with GMRS FCC licenses and GMRS radios, access to the repeaters is provided at no cost. See below for more information. [If you are an amateur radio operator please use the Red Buttons instead of the Orange Buttons.]

The LCARE Project is a cooperative project with the Lafayette Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (OHSEP). The GMRS and Ham users appreciate and thank Director Craig Stansbury and Director Chad Sonnier for supporting GMRS and HAM repeaters. They provide critical access for the residents and travelers in Lafayette Parish for daily and emergency traffic.
